<Barbie> Hello Vagrants of all species and genders. Welcome to our first minisode of "Dispatches from Xija Station". We wanted our first dispatch to be an introduction to you. My name is Barbie, my pronouns are she and her, and I make up one half of our podcasting duo.
<Christine> And hello everybody, my name is Christine, my pronouns are she/her/hers. I discovered the show because when you end up in one gay TV fandom you tend to end up in a lot of them. Carmilla led me to Wynonna Earp which led me interestingly enough to Vagrant Queen and I find that Vagrant Queen is very good as far as representation. It's the sort of thing you don't tend to see terribly often on TV. Plus I haven't seen any other show like Vagrant Queen, a show that manages to straddle that line of-of kick ass while also being fun. It's a very good balance to have for sure, that's why I like the show so much.
<Barbie> Yeah, hopping between fandoms, especially with queer characters, is pretty common I think. I also found Vagrant Queen through Tom Rozon, who plays Isaac Stelling in Vagrant Queen, but also plays Doc Holliday in Wynonna Earp, which is where I first saw him. He's in plenty of other fantastic TV shows as well, which I highly recommend checking out. We started this podcast because we are such big fans of the show and we wanted to share our excitement with all of you. We're looking forward to bringing you all of our episode thoughts and fangirling right along with you as we discover this galaxy ... not ours.
<Christine> On that note let's talk about what we're planning on doing here. For one, each week we're going to be going through and providing recaps and discussion about each episode. We are planning on starting at episode one and working our way through the season. These will of course be coming from our own perspectives as viewers, but if you as a fan want to contribute to the conversation you can also get a hold of us through our listener mailbox, more on that in a moment. We'll also be highlighting the latest and greatest in fanwork, fanart, fanfiction, all of those wonderful things. We'll also have updates on fandom news from time to time. We may even have an interview or two on this podcast in the future, so what can we say except watch this space.
Well that's our first podcast. We're working on getting our systems up and running at full functionality as soon as we can. For now there's a number of ways you can get in touch with us and help support the show. For one you can find us on twitter at Xija dispatch pod. There we'll be posting the latest news about the show itself, our podcast, anything related to the fandom, all of those wonderful things. You can also support us on a long term or short term basis by going to Patreon. Your subscription helps us cover expenses for the podcast be that hosting costs or giveaways or anything else that helps us make this the best fanspace it can be. To find us on Patreon you can just go to patreon dot com that's P-A-T-R-E-O-N dot com, and search Xija: (X-I-J-A). And of course we want to hear from you. Our email is vagrant queen pod at gmail dot com. You can send us text or a voice recording, whether it's about what's happening on the show, your thoughts on the show as a whole, or what we're doing here. Like we said earlier this is an inclusive space so send us some comments or feedback and make yourself heard. And of course you can find us on podbean, that's where our podcast is hosted. And that's where you can find the latest episodes of our program and keep up to date on what's happening in our galaxy. Give us a follow there, that's at xijastation dot podbean dot com. Until the next dispatch from Xija Station this has been a podcast from another galaxy ... not yours.
