[Theme song]
Christine> Hello, Vagrants, and welcome to a mini Dispatch from Xija Station! I’m Christine…
Barbie> And I’m Barbie.
Christine> So as we're recording this, the season finale of Vagrant Queen just aired here in the U.S. this past Thursday. That’s it, that’s the season...
Barbie> I'm so bummed!
Christine> Same!
Barbie> I woke up, after the episode, and I literally felt like I had a hangover. It was terrible.
Christine> Yeah, I mean after a finale like that ...
Barbie> That definitely was a rollercoaster, put it that way. But we did want to make sure that this isn’t the end of the line for the fantastic crew of the Winnipeg, so today we’d like to talk about what we can do as fans of the show to help make sure SyFy renews Vagrant Queen.
Christine> For one, keep talking about why you love the show so much, and what the show means to you! Over these past few days, some Vagrants have been telling us how they feel about the show. We are looking forward to sharing some of those clips in a separate podcast not too far down the line. There's also been such an outpouring of support from our listeners and we can’t wait to share their excitement with you. Look for that to come out in the next couple of days. Thank you to everybody who sent audio in, and whether you sent in audio or not, we appreciate every single one of you!
Barbie> Alright. So how do we translate that into action to help the show? Well, there’s a lot of ways you can make a difference. One, keep talking about the show across all your social media, and make sure you include hashtags when you can! That's hashtag #VagrantQueen and #RenewVagrantQueen. You can also tag the network (@SyFy, and @NBCuniversal) and you can also add Chris McCumber, his Twitter is @mccumberc and he's the President of the USA and Syfy networks, and he oversees strategy and daily operations for Syfy, including the original programming so this is the guy uyou want to tag in your tweets.
Christine> But that’s really just the beginning! You can also help by raising the show’s scores on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes. Just log in with your account and give Vagrant Queen the highest score you can, and on IMDB especially, make sure you rate some other shows too, because the more you rate on IMDB, the more your rating impacts Vagrant Queen’s score, and goodness knows it could use all the help it can get.
Barbie> And keep telling everybody you know to watch the show on SyFy’s website! Ratings aren’t something we can do much now, but networks do respond to shows doing well on streaming service, and so the more people there are watching this fantastic show, the better.
Christine> Networks also pay attention to their shows doing well on iTunes, Google Play, all of those services, so if you can afford it, buy some episodes, and even the whole season! Money does talk.
Barbie> That's for sure. If you want to go the old-fashioned route, you can also send letters to the networks and tell them how you feel about the show! You can send feedback on their website at syfy.com/feedback, or you can email the network directly at feedback@syfy.com.
Christine> And we’ve started a petition to encourage SyFy to renew the show! You can find that on change.org, and it only takes a few seconds to sign -- the more of us that sign it, the louder our collective voices are, and the more SyFy can hear us loud and clear.
Barbie> We’ll have all the links and information on everything we’ve just talked about in our show notes, so take a look there and help the hashtag #RenewVagrantQueen movement however you can.
Christine> That’s right, every voice counts in this, so let’s pull together and help make this happen!! We need a second season of this show!
[End theme]
Barbie> We surely do. If you have any questions or want more information on how you can help, we are here to give you all the details on how to get a hold of us in just a minute.
